The PFOS amount in foam found in Starkweather Creek was 92,000 parts per trillion, far exceeding the laughable EPA advisory threshold level of 70 ppt. The mayor should be more then “concerned.”

New test results show foam collected from Starkweather Creek in October contained hazardous fluorinated chemicals at levels thousands of times higher than recommended standards.

According to data released Thursday by the state Department of Natural Resources, samples of foam collected near the Olbrich Boat Launch had a concentration of one compound, PFOS, between 80,000 and 92,000 parts per trillion. The water itself had a PFOS level of 400 ppt
